Random Rambling

I haven’t taken a picture worth publishing in about 3 weeks.  I am in such a slump.  Of course the weather has been really blah.  We have not much snow and we have a lot of drab brown dead grass showing

Friday I went to Boston where I helped celebrate the death of an old friend and relative.  We hadn’t really been in touch that much.  We had been boyhood friends and had been close while we both lived in Bangor.  We had mutual friends so I always knew of his condition in life and his health.  So I wasn’t surprised to hear of his passing.  He was only 68.  Only a year older than I.

When something like this happens old memories rush in.  You reminisce with those who gather.  You survive but a piece of your history gets ripped away.

To Barry Lieberman…I wish you a good journey.

Quick Trip to Boston

Went for a quick overnight to Boston to visit with brothers and sisters-in law.  Pretty laid back there but on the way down found out that 1 daughter and spouse and 1 son and spouse and 5 out of 9 grandchildren were going to be at Faneuil Hall.  No brainer there we went to visit and had a wonderful but short time.  Visit with grandchildren, a slice of Pizza Regina, a Guinness at a  nearby pub…Priceless

And oh yes…here is a bench I found at the New Hampshire Liquor Store for my friend Lara.

Loving Technology

I just love technology.  I just added a Flickr tab and a Twitter tab to my Facebook page.  Talk about connectivity.  Tomorrow my You Tube tab.  I also figured out how to add a signature to my photos with a little help from a friend.  OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA            This one is a little raw but I have better ones.  Thank you Koko.

Quick Note

Just when it looked like we were heading for not much snow 4 to 8 inches turned into 12 inches plus.  It is beautiful and I don’t have to shovel it.

Change of Direction

I’ve been thinking.  I started out this blog sharing and exploring my photography.  Then I would read, view, or hear about something going on in the world that went against my belief system and I felt I needed to share and maybe urge people to do something.

I have decided to make this just a pure photography offering.  It may be that some social comment may slip in but it will be limited to the visual only.  The world needs some fixing and I will continue to do my part and you will, I am sure do the same.

North End

Today I give you this door I found in Boston’s North End District.  The North End is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Boston.  I like doors.  I liked this door.  It so so warm and inviting.  It says “Come in Bob.  Let’s sit down and enjoy some good food and wine”

First Big Storm of Winter

I was almost going to switch or add another blog but it was becoming more difficult than I wanted it to be.  I I wanted was to sound off about social events and share some of my life.  So yesterday I found this guy watching over some ducks floating below him.  I think he was waiting for a Lame Duck…sorry bad joke.
